We’re writing to let you know about our plans to install 500 metres of new water main in Leeds, Kent.

This vital £380,000 investment will help us maintain a steady supply of top-quality drinking water to the area as the community grows.

Our work is set to begin on 4 July and will take approximately nine weeks to complete. The majority of work will take place in private land, but we will need to close Upper Street and Burberry Lane both for one week.

Burberry Lane will be closed from 13 to 22 July, near the junction with Upper Street. A small section of Upper Street will be closed from 23 to 31 July. Diversion routes have been agreed with Kent Highways and will be clearly signed for the duration of the work.

Following a recent meeting with the parish council, our Project Manager for this scheme, Jeremy Dufour, is currently investigating solutions to the concerns raised. These included additional signage and the feasibility of making Burberry Lane one-way for the duration. Once he has investigated these, we will communicate further.

We will keep you updated on progress with the scheme and updates on our work can also be found on the dedicated webpage at southeastwater.co.uk/leeds
